I love Battlestar Galactica, its easily the best sci-fi show I've ever seen, even if it's really much more of a drama than a sci-fi show. I just love its characters, its story, its complexity, its music, its writing.

There's nothing about the show that I don't like, with the exception of maybe the Sharon character and maybe a couple of the stand-alone episodes which weren't up to Galactica's high standards.

Other than that, I absolutely love this show so of course I was going to buy this movie, even IF 30 bucks (which is what it cost me) is too much for a movie that uses a lot of scenes that were IN the show.

With that said, I still thought this was great and it's just really interesting to see the story told from the Cylons' POV, which certainly sheds light to certain aspects of the story that were only alluded to in the series itself.

I also like how the story gives the Simon character much more importance than they did in the series, because Simon was easily the least used cylon in the Galactica universe, so it was nice to see his character be given a much more prominent role, even if the story centers around Brother Cavil, who's easily my favorite cylon of them all, and Dean Stockwell just literally makes this movie worth watching even if a lot of scenes are stolen from the series, Dean is so fantastic as Brother Cavil that it's just sad that he won't get proper recognition for his work in this movie just because it's a "sci-fi" show that's called Battlestar Galactica, and that's sad to me.

BSG was usually regarded as one of the best shows on tv during its run, but because of the genre it fits in, it got overlooked by people and that's just sad to me. But I digress, one of the aspects I didn't like about this movie was the Cavil in the Galactica and the subplot with the kid.

I get the intention of that subplot, but the end of the subplot was just really silly and it just seemed like it was a way for you to really hate the Cavil character and not because it fit the actual storyline.

Battlestar Galactica villains don't have to resort to killing little kids to get you to hate them, so I didn't really like that but it's a minor thing. I definitely liked this movie better than Razor, the problem with Razor was that you had this entirely new character that you had to invest in and it was just hard to get into her character since she basically was a mix of two other characters in the show.

It was just hard to buy into her character and to invest in her emotionally. In this case, you have series regulars and it was much easier to get into the movie. With that said I think that this movie certainly helps fills some gaps that were left over from the series.

Edward James Olmos said that The Plan is not the last BSG movie and I can appreciate what he's trying to do by saying that, but it'll be hard to do another movie without risking the integrity of the series.

I'm sure they could come up with another story of something that happened in between seasons but I hope that that's not the case and this coming from a huge BSG nerd and all I want is more BSG.

I'm sure I'd buy all the movies if they made more but y'all get what I mean. With that said, this is a great movie for BSG fans, and fans who've watched the entire series not people who want to get into the series.

That's all I can really say honestly, I definitely recommend it to the fans of the show.
