Review of Battlestar Galactica: The Plan (2009) by Me M — 22 Nov 2009
Olmos' Plan -- there isn't really one.
Apparently missing the sunny weather in Vancouver, Olmos and half the cast of BSG re-convened for yet another chapter in the BSG series. This time, supposedly, from the Cylons POV.
But is it really? 70% of this 2-hour special is just clips from the series re-edited and presented within the frame of the Cylons POV because, apparently, we didn't get enough of that the first time.
I hope you like Dean Stockwell because he's in this A LOT. His character(s) "Model 1" is throughout the muddled story, scorning humans all the way even when fearing his (their?) own mortality. What could be more human than dying?
The enigmatic Leoben is presented again, probably thanks to unused shots from the series, but his character isn't really explained any more thoroughly. Was he really in love with Starbuck? Did she ever love him back? Etc.
And it's infuriating to true fans because why make yet another episode if you're not going to bother to answer any of the 'big' questions about the characters? And hadn't we already established that the Cylons were just like humans anyway?
