Review of Battlestar Galactica: Razor (2007) by Larry L — 06 Dec 2007
Definately NOT a stand alone feature. As maybe we were lead to believe. However, shows the back story of Pegasus and Cain, which were only ever briefly talked about in the series, and helps you to understand Cains character a little more, although this did seem a little rushed.
For fans of the franchise, 1978 series cylons, or first cylon war (in 2003 series) make an appearance in a story line that is very quickly introduced with little back story or understanding of. Obviously this is going to be a major story arc for season 4, and why this was advertised as a prelude/set up of such.
The banter between Apollo and Starbuck is great and an interesting twist at the end of the feature. I must say that I did enjoy this feature, typical BSG story telling with awsome special effects and the great acting to back it up.
However, it cannot be viewed/stand alone, without knowing previous story arcs of the series, or without continuing to watch S4 if you want full closure (hopefully S4 WILL do this), otherwise you would have a few questions.
