Review of Battlestar Galactica (1978) by Landon M — 30 May 2015
It took me a while to eventually getting around to watching this old series - after thoroughly enjoying the 2000's remake. After what appeared to be a shaky start, where despite following the footsteps of Star Wars the sfx was jarring by comparison, things picked up.
Aided mostly by some of the neat similarities or contrasts to the remake (or should that be vice versa) and some solid action. The last episode however strayed too far into 60s Star Trek territory with lizard men and gawdy costuming.
Keen to see whether the rest of the series packs any of the punch so well delivered in the remake.
