Review of Battleship Potemkin (1925) by Clive B — 11 Dec 2008
Difficult to watch this without subjecting it to hindsight, the great moments of action are widely appreciated - The Odessa Staircase for example can still be appreciated for the innovative skill on display.
But in between the excellent action sequences the film lacks the same energy and visual efficiency and the fluency is disturbed by the episodic structure.
