Review of Battleship Potemkin (1925) by Dan B — 05 Aug 2007
Made 20 years after the mutiny and Odessa uprising, this film is considered one of the great movies of early cinema; unfortunately it is too earnest to be taken seriously. This movie is an early example of propaganda in film, and is so ridiculously silly in parts that it's unintentionally funny.
