It's very hard for me to rate this one. It's such a classic, plus I can't argue about the innovative techniques utilized, really groundbreaking. Still, I don't like its purpose, it's not only a political issue; but I don't feel confortable exalting a movie which is astutely made to manipulate, the story, the acting, the score, what a huge propaganda. I can only imagine the effect it had.
But thinking impartially, I can't give it a bad rate, because as much as I don't like it, Battleship Potemkin accomplishes its goals.
