It's only lack is that it was made before sound and colour was invented for films. Without a doubt one of the most important films ever in the sense of film-history and in the sense of it's effect on real life.
This film shows the revolution in culture that followed the Russian revolution (until Stalin took over) which created a foundation for revolutionary new developments in several art form and raised them to a higher quality than ever before.
No where is that truer than in the art of film-making.
