Review of Battleship (2012) by Ess Q — 11 Apr 2014

If I could give it a -0- I would. When this came out at the theaters it was a given "must see" as it had Liam Neeson in it and Neeson doesn't do crap movies, but then we saw the trailer and it also had Rihanna and Riahnna isn't one of my favorite people I thought, "I will wait until it comes out at the $1.00 theater." When it came out at the $1.00 theater I had more time to read reviews and more and more people thought the movie was horrible for many reasons.

First, some of the CG was acceptable. None of the cast, with the exception of Neeson was acceptable. I just watched this today and had no clue that Jesse Plemons was in it (From Breaking Bad) he was bad in Breaking Bad and he is equally bad in this.

Also, being a great history buff and just coming off a GRAND visit of the USS IOWA a IOWA Class Ship and seeing that they used the USS MISSOURI in this film left me, to say the least, with a bad taste in my mouth, knowing that the society for the preservation of these ships would stoop down so low as to allow such Rubbish to tarnish their name.

Let's get to the soundtrack. It was completely out of line for this movie. It didn't make it any better.

Plot, well I usually don't give away the plat and this time is no different, except for the fact that there is no plot to give away.

Lastly, I have to give away one "MY ASS" as I call them, scene. A man on prosthetic legs can not fight a 10' alien and win... enough said there.

Is this movie worth your time?

1) If you want to please the boyfriend/husband -no.

2) If you are a history buff- no.

3) If you like Military movies - no.

4) If you like Liam Neeson- No.

5)If you like movies about ships- no.

... and the list goes on...
