Review of Battleground (1949) by Jennifer S — 31 Mar 2008
Great war film; nice classic development of cameraderie between the soldiers, excellent tension and twists related to action / battles, and impressive cinematography for the time. One of the problems I have w/ this film, and a lot of war movies in general, is that I tend to get the characters confused, since they're usually all dressed and built about the same in the army.
Add the fact that this is a black and white movie w/ no colors to distinguish anything, and I tend to be extremely confused about who is who a lot of the time. Of course, this could be due more to my stupidity than issues with the film, lol.
=P Plus I was pissed that Ricardo Montalban's character was the first one to get killed off. =P.
