Review of Battle of the Year (2013) by Skyview B — 24 Jan 2014
Introduction.
In the beginning this movie is showing that the US has lost to Korea and isn't as good as them and they are making a dream team for the US to battle at the "Battle of the Year.".
Plot Summary.
This movie is called "Battle of the Year" and it's about a group of b boys that audition for a spot on the US b boy team for the Battle of the Year in France. These boys go through so much training and they first started out with 22 people and each Friday they took out a person ending with the total amount of 13 boys on the team. They trained starting at 6am and ended very late at night. When they got to France they were battling and there were only 4 teams that made it to the finals and they were one of the teams.
Themes.
The theme of this is that its not about "I" in a team it's about "us" in a team and that nothing can be better than being a team with everyone acting like a family. The outcome is different.
Technical Elements.
The film's overall appearance was really amazing. They did well having slow motion stuff and sped up scenes. The camera did well considering they were dancing which was extremely interesting.
Conclusion.
I personally really enjoyed this because it was a dance movie and dance is my life. If you are a dancer or really enjoy dancing it's really interesting to watch the style b boy and what kind of moves they can do. It's quite interesting how there is so many art forms you can do with your body and to be able to do stunts and spin on one hand is rad. I loved this movie a lot.
