Lol the first time I watched the film I was like WTF. The trailer had me believe that this was a sport film flavoured with dark comedy and absurd humor as it was from the makers of Little Miss Sunshine and stars the king of awkward comedy Steve Carell himself.
I went in cinema stoned thinking I would get some quips and smirks but on the contrary, it had my eyes tingling. This is a very passionate romantic film complimented by the social commentary and societal paradigm of the 70's.
Prior to this movie, I was oblivious to the real life events and characters. So to me this dramatised version makes perfect sense. PS: The trailer should win it's own separate award cah right now every next film trailer gives you away the whole plot points and money shots to attract audience rather than preserving the experience for them.
The trailer drew me to the cinema for a different reason and I came back home heart warmed smiling from a different reason.
