Review of Battle of Britain (1969) by Shameen K — 07 Jan 2009
This movie sure was boring. Too much flying about, and the plot was too thin to carry the whole film through.
I can appreciate the fact that the air battle scenes and the endless runs and re-runs on planes taking off must've been impressive 40(!) years ago, but that really didn't help much when the script doesn't help the viewer to get interested in the actual fighting going on.
I also admit that I'm too young to recognize the Stars acting in this film, I'm not sure that would've helped though. Of course I am of the MTV generation and used to different type on war films. Still, back in those days they did make some good war films too.
I appreciate the fact that there were real German actors playing the Germans instead of the usual americans with dodgy accents.
