It's just way to cliche to be interesting. Despite all the carnage, explosions, and typical heroic cries from those fearless soldiers taking on extra-terrestrial forces, it's REALLY hard to pay attention.
In fact, I immediately forgot a lot of the film's content upon completion of my viewing experience. Did they show what the aliens look like? Honestly, I don't remember. I lost focus somewhere along the way.
Not much more to it.
