Review of Battle: Los Angeles (2011) by Alejandro F — 19 Jun 2013
Battle: LA is unexpectedly good for what the trailer implied and the expectations following. Given the expectations were poor, this film is short of being Michael Bay trash. It holds some believability and provides a gritting and grounded war experience on the home-front.
The dialogue is cheesy and cliché, the slow-motion and over-sensitive scenes are stabs in an already wounded animal, and the acting is very mediocre. However, if it's a mindless action-packed grunt experience the viewer feels like, Battle LA is far from the worst.
