Review of Battle: Los Angeles (2011) by Junglepredator — 15 Mar 2011
For the most part it's executed excellently.
There's a few parts where the "humanity" of the soldiers is supposed to matter but doesn't detract from the presentation of a battle squad at all.
Equipment & execution are presented well & you feel like you're right in the squad... you don't know everything or what's going to happen at all. The 4th wall is behind you not in front of you for this movie.
This is 10 times the movie "Monsters" is yet it's being panned by critics because of it's "lack" of story.
Maybe if this had been "made in a basement" like "Monsters" supposedly was it'd be winning awards too.
As it is "Monsters" didn't deserve any credit... I've met worse monsters working my retail job... while the aliens in Battle: LA feel just like they're supposed too... ALIEN.
