Review of Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973) by Andrew R — 30 Apr 2011

I've now completed the Apes set of five original films, having immensely enjoyed the first four, I found this final installment to be gratingly bad. Where the first four seemed to have a much stronger message, or at the very least, a compelling plot, this was thin on both grounds.

I did like how we were able to tie in to the plot of the second film by exploring the origins of the underground humans, but ultimately, there was very little to enjoy here. That being said, I do feel like the Apes sequels deserve more attention than they may get.

..just not this one.
