Review of Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973) by Ayrton C — 30 Nov 2017

The lowest point of the franchise. The budget is clearly low, the acting fairly bad, the photography and overall direction mediocre and the tempo slow. The duration might be small but a lot of scenes are longer than they should be and that just goes to show how sketchy this film is.

Moreover, the philosophical questions that rendered the 1968 original a weighty classic are herein degraded to simplistic shallowness. It might not be an abomination but it's pretty boring all in all.
