Review of Batman: Year One (2011) by Darren F — 12 Jul 2012
I wouldve liked to have liked this more, but unfortanetly they cram too much into too little. This new animted batman film does well with nice details, great animation, and some solid action, so as far as it visually goes its the best looking DC animated feature next to Under The Red Hood; unfortanetly their is little reason for this to exsist if youve seen all the Batman films.
The movies saving angle is the Detective Gordon story, but it wouldve helped if the movie werent so short (scenes that are of interest are short, and the action scenes overlong) and the movies dramatic element more effective.
The voice acting is mostly flat, and with movie being very dialogue driven, it doesnt flatter. While the movie looks fine, it doesnt play out quite as well.
