Review of Batman: Year One (2011) by Mike S — 03 Nov 2013
A strait up adaptation of a famous Frank Miller book is in typical Miller fashion a dark and gritty tale of a corrupt city in crisis. Given that Batman Begins already borrowed elements from Frank Miller this seemed a bit unneeded.
Also the deadpan Batman is rather uninteresting. Where it scores big is Brian Cranston as Gordon who gives his all and would make a good live action Gordon. A solid dark retailing of Batmans origins.
