Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Jonathan H — 26 Jun 2017
People tend to see this movie waiting for the third act, wanting only the violence, pain, and destruction of the fight. With wonderful cinematography, the rule of theme repetition throughout each act, and even showing repeating themes coming from other movies, this movie is a wonderful build to a new franchise.
However, this review is for the extended cut as many of the subtle moments of character development, plot points, and the overall theme surrounding the characters is lessened in the theatrical cut. It may be three hours, but it was hard to put down the remote and take a break at any moment during the film.
