Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Arthur R — 29 Jun 2018
What a missed opportunity this was... A muddled plot, character choices that made no sense, and a twist revolving around a mothers name that was utterly laughable. Snyders over-reliance on religious references also detract from the epic.
On the plus side, there are decent action scenes and Doomsday is one of the most formidable villains in Superhero films to date. There were much stronger ideas and character motivations available, its bemusing that accomplished writers and directors chose the directions they did.
Eisenberg makes an interesting Lex Luthor, but Affleck cant compete with Bale in the Batman stakes.
