Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Sonny B — 25 Nov 2017
Some slight spoilers below.
The movie wasn't funny where it tried to be. Each joke line was followed by a pause in which no one in the theater laughed. The philosophical conflict between Batman and Superman was resolved way too quickly and from what I could tell only bc Lexx kidnapped Superman's mom. I loved Wonder Woman. She was used much too little. The build up to Justice League Graveside was a bit too Batman has great insight into the future Thought Superman was less compelling than he was in the last film. Lexx didn't impress as super villain either I believe they have a shot at redemption in Justice League as the characters are ok and seeing what they do from here is interesting to me. Saw Age of Ultron twice in theaters and will own. I wouldn't watch this in theater again. Probably would not stop and watch if it were playing on tv either.
Ultimate Edition:
After hearing several podcasts hosts/guests talk about how much better the longer version was I decided to give it a try. It is a much better version I would rate the longer version 4 1/2 stars. The story was much better and the worst parts of the theatrical release didn't gain extra air time so they are proportionally a much smaller part of this edition.
