Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Reviews F — 03 Jun 2018
I'm mixed about this movie. The film is basically boring until it shows the big battle promised by the trailers and the title. The plot is everywhere, and even upon watching the film a second time, it is still difficult to understand half the time.
The first half is the reason why this movie doesn't have a 4 1/2 stars. The first half has about nothing of importance. One paragraph with 4 sentences sums it all up. The second half is amazing. It is driven by stunning visual effect and sort of stupid, but cool reveals.
I like the second half. It's perfectly balanced. There are great conflicts going on. I won't be a jerk and spoil it, as when I do that everyone gets angry, even though you can watch it for free on TNTHD on TV.
I saw the movie in IMAX 3D, so it was sort of cooler. There were only about 25 minutes of IMAX footage, which wasn't visible in the tiny AMC IMAX. Overall, I give Batman vs. Superman a 65%. At least you can cringe through the first half with the performance of Jesse Eisengerg's Lex Luthor, and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman/Diana) gives a good performance.
You can sometimes enjoy the acting of Henry Cavil and Ben Afflek's performances.
