Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Manuel K — 21 Jun 2017

Most of the hate towards this film is directed at the theatrical version and how it was so badly butchered by WB, but many have changed their tune when seeing the ultimate edition.

Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition is a very deep, emotional, and at times complex film. If your looking for a quick, cheap thrill then you might not enjoy this film at the time. This movies theatrical version was butchered by WB and in doing so reshaped the story leaving numerous plot holes. So the Ultimate Edition is the full story and the one worth seeing.

Watch 'Man of Steel' before seeing this movie. I'm a Zack Snyder fan and love his movies, visuals, etc.

This film is worth seeing when you have the time, but not suggested for when you're hanging with a group of friends looking to laugh and just goof off.

This film is about Superman trying to become Superman. Trying to help the world, save people, find a place in this world not as an outcast, and yet is looked at has a threat by many, also with the help of Lex Luthor framing him for crimes. Superman is not from this world, yet He is trying to be human, find a place in this world, be excepted by earths people, and come into his destiny.

This film is also about Batman being Batman for 20 years and losing faith in humanity, and fearing Superman, what Superman can do with his powers. This fear is played on by Lex Luthor and Batman is blinded by Lex's lies and manipulation of Superman.

Lex Luthor doesn't believe a god can be all good and all powerful and sees Superman has a god and wants to bring him down and expose him to the world as not being all good and all powerful. Lex references his hate towards god being stemmed from his abuse from his father and nothing being there to save him.

Great film, great plot, great visuals. 5/5.
