There are some entertaining scenes, especially towards the end of the movie, but for much of its two and a half hour running time Batman Vs Superman is a mess. Seemingly learning nothing from the failures of Sam Raimi's third Spiderman outing it tries desperately to introduce so many characters, including this latest version of Batman, that in the end you won't have much interest in any of them. Jumping from scene to scene with seemingly little thought for coherence you probably won't care much about the plot either and Batman's unbridled anger towards Superman never really feels earned at any point.

On the casting side Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman) and Gal Gadot (Wonderwoman) all play their characters well enough but Jesse Eisenberg is seriously miscast as Lex Luthor. Everything he does feels forced and he simply lacks the screen presence to make his character seem as dangerous and the movie wants you to think he is.

I was convinced by my brother to go to the cinema with him and watch this but I can't say I'd have been missing much if I'd just stayed at home.
