Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Kangaroo99 — 20 Nov 2017
Batman V. Superman was truly truly a masterpiece of a movie. It is sad to say many "critics" would not understand such an amazing movie. It has many motifs and symbolism. It's a movie where you really have to think and piece some the plot together.
It got me thinking a lot and I've seen it multiple times. Superman's selfless act of sacrificing himself to Doomsday snaps Batman out of the rage he has been in at the end of the movie. This Batman we are given is a worn down Batman who is old and now tired of criminals.
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I think Zack Snyder was amazing in incorporating religious imagery into the movie as well. When we see Superman hovering over a family whose house has been flooded; We see that the family is reaching out to him not only as a hero but they see him as a God figure.
Also towards the end of the movie when Superman lays dead; Wonder Woman, Batman, and Lois Lane lay over him. They scene looks specifically shot like the "Descent From The Cross" painting of Jesus being taken away from the cross.
The scores beautifully composed by Hans Zimmer really creates an atmosphere that emotionally strikes you in the heart. They blend very well together with the scenes and are also very memorable! Overall BvS was a movie of pure awesome masterpiece! I know for sure in the future more people will learn to respect the movie and see it for what it truly is.
It will go down as one of the best DCEU movies.
