Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Htgamer — 04 Jun 2017
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is a total mess of a film. It tries too hard to include as many things and characters and story arcs as possible in one movie. In fact, it's too much, and the end result is too bad.
You got Batman and Superman fighting each other because they have been set up by Lex Luthor to do so, but the first 120 minutes of the movie's 150 are spent in boring speeches, court hearings, insignificant sub-plots and our heroes enjoying themselves in numerous galas. Oh, in the end we have Lex Luthor combining his blood and General Zod's dead body inside the alien spaceship from Man of Steel in order to create Doomsday, completely ravaging the villain's origin as established in the DC comics.
Henry Cavill is decent enough to portray Superman but Ben Affleck doesn't make a great Batman, while Jesse Eisenberg reduces Lex Luthor to a neurotic 30-year-old-spoilt-kid with tons of money who thinks he can do whatever he wants. On the other hand Gal Gadot seriously impresses as Wonder Woman in her relatively short appearance.
All in all Batman v Superman is a bad movie.
