Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Frank G — 08 Nov 2016
[this is SPOILER FREE].
I found Batman v Superman to be much more enjoyable than critics said it was. However, they were right when they said the story was kind of all over the place. It was like they tried to do 5 movies at once. In my opinion, although the story was scattered, I thought it definitely got the job done in all other areas. Character's were great (except two of them), performance was done well by the actors, the action was a thrill ride, and Batfleck was the best Batman we've seen. However, I will admit, Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was trash. I never want to see him in a DC film again. Same for Adams Lois Lane. DC needs to take a page out of Marvel's book when it comes to female love interests (i.e. Pepper Potts, Peggy Carter, etc.).
Overall, as a DC fan, or any other general nerd, it's a must. However, it's unfortunately subjective to it's audience. At least the franchise is moving now so, hopefully, they'll start spreading out their story more with single movies for separate characters before jumping into the JLA crossover film (like Marvel did and how DC should have done).
All in all, BvS was worth the money, but not worth the hype.
