Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Noah C — 10 Feb 2017
I have no idea what they were thinking with the theatrical release. It was almost as if they made a special effects show and left the story's dialogue out for fun.
The extended version provides the missing dialogue and gives the movie a richer feel. My own opinion of Ben Affleck; was that of a top effort, when you look back at the previous line up of 'Batmen' that was some tall performance order. Affleck provided a gritty 'sick of all the same crap' Batman performance.
I always enjoyed Christopher Reeves naïve, bumbling, Clark Kent cover in Superman and saw Henry Cavill prove he can deliver an 'as good as its ever gonna get' performance of this 'goody two shoes' hero.
The storyline was pitted with errors. For example; with Doomsday, what the hell were they thinking? There's an entire storyline to this character, not a quick 30 minutes at the end of the movie insert. Superman dead after his second performance? You cannot just go changing the storylines just to cash in. Take the Amazing Spiderman movies. I mean it, please take them. What the hell were they thinking?
I digress. All in all, I liked this movie, hence the rating I have imparted. They seriously need to pay attention if they want my money next time. It took the extended version to make me look twice.
