Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Cloudy I — 03 Mar 2017
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice....is a fantastic film, a true comic book movie and the best comic book movie I have seen. The story is deep and full of lots of stuff but despite that the film still flows pretty well.
While some might say because of this the pacing is slow in parts, but I would disagree. We seem to want nothing but action, action, action throughout out the whole movie these days, but in this movie where the parts that might be deemed "slow" by some are actually parts that set up the action, that build up other parts and also help to build up as a spring board for what comes after this movie.
There are small cameos of the heroes we will see in the Justice League movies, and Wonder Woman makes a nice splash in her small part in this movie. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, the characters are enjoyable and the acting is great.
The humor was good and often witty, and thankfully not campy. Overall it is a dark movie, a gritty movie, a movie with emotion and feeling. You can feel the struggle for each Batman and Superman as they wrestle with their own burdens.
This is a great addition in the DCEU and it is a very well done movie, a great watch, and a tree trunk in which the future movies will branch from.
