Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Paul D — 17 May 2017
Here's the thing. Get off your comic high horse and enjoy this movie for what it is. When did going to a movie become about over analysing and not just enjoying the spectacle and the escape. The tension leading up to the battle between these two, Batman asking Superman if he bleeds.
A hardcore Dark Knight Batman mercilessly taking down a room of bad guys to Superman opting for self sacrifice against a bad guy that can't be stopped. It was a great movie. And here's the trick.
My 10 year old and 12 year old haven't read the comics. They aren't dug into the comic unbreakable timelines. They don't know the character relationships. They didn't care. They just enjoyed the film and got everything in the context of the movie because they weren't aware of any other version of the universe or events.
Top job, can't wait for the next one.
