Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Shane P — 03 Jan 2019
Maybe it is because I was always a DC fan and knew all the characters so it did not get confusing to me like to other people who don't get it, but it is still my favorite DCEU film to date! The biggest complaint I hear is about how it is hard to follow, but I get it just fine.
The action was amazing plus Ben Affleck as Batman here is the best to date (Everyone can agree on that) And I found symbolism and the dark themes interesting and I do enjoy this new telling of the DC world.
The imagery is beautiful and I feel like this is a more realistic version of these comics. The only problem I got with the film without spoiling it for anyone is a scene in the film that was clearly meant for the Justice League film, but now seeing that film (Which is one of the worst DCEU films in my opinion) and seeing how it does not connect at all with the scene, makes it meaningless for the film and just makes me angry about never getting the Justice League film we were meant to get.
Other then that, I find it great and is one of my favorite Superhero films. I highly recommend it to those who were a fan of Man of Steel or any of Zack Snyder 's past works. If you did not like Man of Steel, you won't like this, as this is another darker telling of the DC stories.
