Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Olaf S — 18 Aug 2017
If you're looking for a dark, dramatic, thought provoking epic, then DC's the way to go. I think a lot of the hate towards Batman v Superman comes from it being so radically different from what we are used to in terms of both DC comic book lore and comic book movies in general.
I've heard people says that this movie is a fundamental misunderstanding of it's characters but what I like to believe is that it is the people who have a fundamental misunderstanding of this movie, it's characters, and the story it's trying to tell.
Most of Zack Snyder's films have already gotten better with age, Dawn of the Dead, one of the best horror movie remakes of all time, 300, one of the best warrior movies of all time, The Watchmen, the most faithful comic to movie adaptation ever, all have gotten better with age! Even Man of Steel, some people are coming around about how they feel about the film, and in time they will do the same with BvS, they always do.
In the end, despite what people initially think about the DCEU now, I believe in time it will go down as legendary!
