Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Vin M — 23 May 2017
Critically mis-assessed art. Zack Snyder's visual story telling is unique which most people seem to misjudge. Unlike their competition at Marvel, DC really sets the bigger picture and tackles the real issues and displays humanity's ugliness. I don't understand the backlash the film received by the critics. To quote " People hate what they don't understand" - Martha.
Zack Snyder has a unique way of telling the story, hence most people find it hard to understand. DC doesn't spoon feed audience like their marvel counterpart. Snyder visual moments are very iconic and powerful, backed by narration. To enjoy and understand this film, one must stop thinking it's going to similar to Marvel. It's not. That's what sets DC apart. I agree, and believe the film is intellectually constructed that average movie go-wers would not get the full message. However upon second viewing of the Ultimate edition, I fell in love. The plot makes sense.
I do advise new viewers to watch the Ultimate edition.
