Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) by Rated N — 22 Feb 2017
A Comic Book come to life! Don't believe the "Criticism" see it for.
Yourself and form your own opinion The criticism this movie receives is.
Just unfair. I mean if you don't like the movie you don't like the.
Movie its an opinion...but I mean honestly some of the reasonings are.
Just so stupid and could easily be applied to Marvel films (Which are.
Awesome too! I'm an avid believer in liking both DC and Marvel).
I personally love the layered story of this movie. I know some were.
Expecting a more "popcorn" fun movie like what Marvel has done but to.
Me I'll go with a great story, awesome dialogue and in depth characters.
Any day of the week. I admired how in depth Chris Terrio's story went.
As well as how philosophical and intelligent that dialogue was too.
There were many things you simply think are subplots but they all.
Connect to the central story as the film unfolds, with Lex Luthor being.
Behind everything pitting our 2 favourite heroes against each other.
The way they balance out Clark's story, Lois' story, Lex's story and.
Introducing us to a new version of Batman while moving him into the.
Story very well as well as involving Wonder Woman was done so well.
Mind you the movie does have a LOT going on story wise as well as.
Developing characters and the action doesn't rev up until later but.
Trust me its worth it, the plot is intriguing and the action sequences.
Are just incredibly shot by Zack Snyder as always. (That Batman.
Warehouse fight scene OH MY GOD).
Henry Cavill is my favourite Superman because like the comics of modern.
Day (and Smallville) I like a more complicated Clark Kent, one that.
Isn't always dundunnana Superman! who always knows what to do and is.
This perfect being and boyscout. No any true Superman fan will tell you.
Superman is much more complicated than that, and much more conflicted a.
Character, constantly questioning if he's doing the right thing,.
Helping the right people and if he's doing more harm than good. Bottom.
Line, the modern Superman to his core is Clark Kent, Superman is just.
What he can do. I love Christopher Reeve but that time has passed and.
Its really time for people to give Cavill a chance.
The best part, Ben Affleck as Batman was simply amazing . WOW. I've.
Always been a fan of Ben and especially in recent years he's had some.
Fantastic work. Hell I even was on board with him being Batman but I.
Didn't think he'd be this damn good! This is THE comic book Batman.
From the suit, to having his experienced and storied crime fighting.
Past, and even just his attitude and how intimidating he was! Affleck.
Played the Batman envisioned and written by Frank Miller in the Dark.
Knight Returns and even echoed various scenes and lines. As a comic.
Reader there were many geek out moments for me in this movie and most.
Of them were when Ben was on screen as Bruce Wayne or Batman. I hope to.
God Ben Affleck plays the role for many years to come because he does.
Such a damn good job from playing the "real" Bruce Wayne, the public.
Figure Bruce Wayne and importantly the badass buff as hell scary as.
Hell Dark Knight.
Say what you will about Eisenberg in the role but I loved this.
Millennial, modern day take on Lex Luthor. Finally on the big screen we.
See him as a deranged scientist and corporate megalomaniac but more.
Importantly a Lex who makes due on his threats. And I mean come on if.
Gene Hackman's campy pimpsuit, wig wearing Lex is considered good then.
Jesse's Lex must be considered fantastic (logically you would think.
So...btw don't try to accuse me of not reading comics, young Lex here =.
Mark Waid's Superman: Birthright version of Lex). His manipulations of.
The characters were great and it was almost eerie how he had his finger.
In every pie, he was truly the puppet master. I know he may have been a.
Bit over the top for some but like the comic Superman: Birthright I.
Believe that Lex will age into the more traditional version of the.
Character everyone knows. I really see prison time and humiliation of.
His defeat at the hands of the heroes a turning point in making him act.
More stone cold and mature.
Poor Zack Snyder, he takes a lot of flack but honestly the guy is a.
Great director. As a comic fan he is one of us. He's a fan and has done.
Many things with this film we never thought we'd ever see in a film.
His visuals as always are great, many parallels with characters and.
Stories, references and easter eggs to a greater DC universe are just.
Admirable. The theatrical cut really didn't do the movie justice. The.
Ultimate edition, the TRUE director's cut is Zack's vision and in my.
Opinion and to many die hard comic fans I know he crafted a brilliant.
Movie. One thats so polarizing that it'll be talked about for years and.
In my opinion will one day be regarded in the same sentence as movies.
Like 2001, Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Scarface, Blade Runner...all.
Movies bashed upon release but years later people thought "actually.
That was a great movie, had great thought provoking themes, dialogue,.
Iconic imagery and a deep story it was truly ahead of its time." Batman.
V Superman: Dawn of Justice- Ultimate Edition will fall in this.
Category. Film, like art is subjective. I realize its a polarizing.
Movie and I know some people have legitimate reasons for not liking it.
But what can I say, its everything I've ever wanted to see in a.
Batman/Superman movie and more, bring on Justice League!
BTW if you actually think the "Martha" scene was just because their.
Moms had the same name....smh you really can't read between the lines.
As to how much deeper and significant that whole scene was to.
Batman...it was a redemption angle.
