Review of Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010) by Gregory K — 15 Sep 2010
It's cool. Nothing insanely awesome. It's so hard for me to disassociate myself with the voice work that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy did for 'Batman: The Animated Series'. It's so iconic to me.
And it captured the Joker far better than this animated film does. However, the Joker does have his moments. While tied up, he purposes a celebration in light of the reunion between Joker, Batman and the Red Hood and the Red Hood punches him and threatens him at gunpoint.
The Joker says, "Party pooper. No cake for you." There were some moments like that I enjoyed. Anyway, Bruce Greenwood does a good job with the Batman voice and the story is very, very predictable but its a fun animated film in the Batman canon.
The 'Batman: Mask of the Phantasm' is FAR superior and, honestly, next to 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight', my favorite Batman film. If you're a fan, check it out.
