Review of Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010) by Mike S — 10 Feb 2012
Intense, emotional, and most of all, BAD-ASS, this is a very mature Batman story, and it pulls absolutely no punches. Easily one of the best Batman movies ever.
The story begins with one of the greatest tragedies of Batman's life: the death of the second Robin, Jason Todd. The movie plays it out in graphic detail, and sets the tone for the rest of the film.
In present day Gotham, Batman is forced to relive that failure, and realize just how badly it will cost him.
The voice cast in this movie is absolutely top-notch. Bruce Greenwood is a great Batman, and John DiMaggio's Joker is a perfect middle ground between Mark Hamill and Heath Ledger. Incredibly creepy, yet funny at the same time.
If you're interested in Batman AT ALL, you owe it to yourself to check out this movie. You won't regret it.
