Review of Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010) by Ronnie L — 16 Apr 2012
Probably one of the most memorable Batman stories of my time made into one of the best DC animated movies of ALL time. The story has been changed some..and it adds the death in the family aspect...which ties everything together nicely.
The voice acting is awesome with NPH as Nightwing being the highlight. Bruce Greenwood makes a convincing and very brooding Dark Knight, and Jensen Ackles as the Red Hood was very entertaining. John Dimaggio's Joker I liked, it was different and that's always a good thing when it still invokes the character portrayed.
The art direction is the modern take on Batman and as with the DC animated movies stays true to whatever source material they adapt from. And a special note on the music, it's frightfully haunting and at the same time, conveys the emotion of the story without being too "weepy".
Perfect for a Batman fan and a great movie for any animation fan.
