Review of Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010) by Aurelius D — 27 Oct 2010
When I first heard about this movie I thought that it sounded familiar. It wasn't upon the first few scenes that I had a feeling I did in fact know where it was headed. If you are a fan of the Batman lore then "Hush" is a book you know.
This is one of the most iconic books I have ever read and for good reason. This movie maybe straight to DVD but it packs serious motion picture punch. The story is full of action as Batman meets his match.
Someone that knows all his tricks and secrets, and uses them against him. Bruce Greenwood doing the voicework of Batman sounds very reminiscent of Connoly's Bats from the old school 90's cartoon and last years epic Arkham game.
Neil Patrick plays an awesome Nightwing, then again I enjoyed his first outing in a JLA movie where he played the flash. Jensen Ackles was a surprised and very awesome one at that. He is my favorite Winchester boy from Supernatural so I immediately loved his character in this.
Not to mention it is fun hearing that voice as he one ups bats all the way. My only complaint is John DiMaggio as Joker. I guess I am just spoiled as I only like one voice actor for animated Joker, and that is Mark Hamill.
If you have read "Hush" then you will love this. It is a lot like the source material however it is different enough to make the story unique. I am more partial to the original book, but this is a much welcomed addition to the ever growing animation collection.
