Review of Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010) by Julian T — 08 Dec 2011
A seriously good animated movie that takes full advantage of its medium. A great voice cast who all do a terrific job. Extremely faithful to its source material, and fits in perfectly to the Batman universe.
It lives up to its PG-13 rating, and its a hardedged PG-13 at that. Really captures the essense of its characters, and intigrates them all into a great plot which is both intricate and engaging. The animation itself is visually stunning.
Its highly stylized comic book imagery is exceedingly fun to watch. Definetly more geared to the serious bat-fan, as it delves more into the history of the characters than any of the actual Batman films, but is not to difficult to figure out for the newcomer.
As far as Batman goes, this isn't too far behind 'Batman Begins', and should satisfy both the serious and the casual fan.
