Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Ben B — 22 Jul 2016
Batman: The Killing Joke is an enjoyable film that is deliciously dark and entertaining. I really liked Mark Hamill as The Joker. He was the perfect voice for the role. Kevin Conroy was also good as Batman, and so was Tara Strong as Batgirl.
The first about 30 minutes of the film are unnecessary backstory for Batgirl. Also, something happens that I won't spoil that I didn't like. The rest of this film is very good. I was very entertained with The Joker's dark antics.
I also really enjoyed his backstory. The film does have some disturbing content, and definitely earned its R rating. I also really loved the end of the film. I won't spoil it, but I really liked it.
Overall, the film isn't amazing and does have its problems. Still, this is an entertaining film that delivers in its darkness.
