Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Mrmelvo C — 28 Jul 2016
I loved it! Sure the animation wasn't anywhere near as good as the source material but I did think it was a nice blend of that style combined with the look of the animated series. Speaking of the BAS, How could anyone not be excited about Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising the roles they were born to play! I truly felt like a kid again watching it on the big screen. I'm sure a lot of people waited to own it on digital but I am so glad the wife and I went to the theater to see it. This is how it was meant to be seen. It looked fantastic on the big screen and for once the surround sound was loud enough to meet my high standards. Everyone in the theater was genuinely excited and loving every minute!
I can see how some might think that Batgirl was done a disservice in this particular reimagining, being portrayed as some love sick emotional school girl....er I mean Librarian but I thought the opposite. It made her more human. Over all she was more badass than she was anything else, come on she got a few hits against batman before she totally banged him like a boss! LOL 5 stars in my book.
