Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Benny G — 01 Aug 2016
I don't understand the Ego on some directors or "moviemakers" The Killing Joke was a great graphic novel why did they feel the need to change the story? Who are they making this for? Cus the fans of the graphic novel(like myself) want to see the story animated and that's it.
I don't wana spoil it but the made Batman "creepy" If you have to explain his relationship with Barbra as sexual it makes his relationship with his other wards "weird" or at least potentially weird like in a Woody Allen kind of way.
When ever they change the main characters personality I check out of the story. Even if the rest of the story is descent I just don't care cus I'm not watching a movie about the great character I know.
I'm watching some bastardize version brought on by some egotistical story-tell'n jack-ass who thinks he can make a great character better. You can't. You can tell a great story, but you can't make a great character better and you shouldn't try.
If you want to make a movie about a great character and add a bunch of character flaws and whatever, then make your own character. And for the record, changing someone's race is not the same as changing their personality which is what I'm talking about, but thats another conversation for another review.
Get your shit together DC. Dont let Zack Snyder's smelly character wrecking taint drip all over the only good thing about DC which is the animated movies.
