Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Neil P — 05 Aug 2016
Given the hype, I have to admit to being pretty disappointed with this one. It's essentially two short stories stuck together and they don't really fit together. One of them concentrates on Batgirl and in doing so makes Batman out to be a soul-less creep.
The other focuses on the the comic "killing joke" but other than a couple of chilling moments (eg Joker's shadowed face in prison) it never really captures the spirit and just goes through the motions.
The voice acting is great with the best versions of Batman and Joker represented but there are better DC animated films out there. A shame given the exposure this one has received.
