Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Mark S — 26 Sep 2016
This movie is so hard to judge as a Batman fan. The second half of the movie is extremely faithful to the Killing Joke comic, and would have been excellent on its own. But the first half of the movie is utterly dreadful, featuring an out-of-character Batgirl and a villain whose creepy fascination with her will make audiences uncomfortable, with no payoff at the end of the subplot.
I expect much better from writer Brian Azzarello, given his background in Batman comics.
