Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Marlon B — 31 Jul 2017
Unsurprisingly, it's another overrated comic turned to a movie adaptation that completely misses the point and down plays the actual good parts.
I know comic book fans can't think rationally once you start talking about misogyny so I'll confine this tirade to saying how frustrating it is that they establish Barbara Gordon as a narrator and add an inane subplot with her as the focus only to throw it and her away completely by the end of the movie.
Really there's not much I can say that hasn't been said already. Animated DC movies used to be good but they've been on a steady decline ever since Ethan Spaulding, Jay Oliva, and Sam Liu started making everything. Besides Gods and Monsters, and maybe Assault on Arkham. Nothing after the Flashpoint paradox is worth your time.
