Review of Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) by Rafael L — 28 Jul 2016
This film is a childish adaptation. The bat sex scene could have gone somewhere if they explored the sexuality of the characters, like the objectification of Batgirl, the ambiguity of her attack by the Joker and the effect of the photos on Gordon.
The first 30 min. could have been an episode of the animated series; making the pacing of the overall movie is dreadful. Plus, the direction of Sam Liu is boring and doesn't use the full potential of animation to tell an interesting story with cool visuals and explore the madness theme.
? What a waste of the R rating.
