Review of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 (2012) by Michael H — 12 Aug 2014
While usually direct to Video means horrible, The Dark Knight Returns Part I is far far from it. While comptley developed by DC Comics themselves, and based on the 1986 Graphic Novel, its not considered part of the Batman Cannon, but even die hards won't care.
This Story is amazing. Batman has been in retriment for about 10 years thanks to the government saying that the world didn't need them anymore. (An idea that's come back recently in the Marvel Universe).
But Gothoma has gone to shit, and Batman realizes he's needed, and he insprires a new generation, including a high school girl who inadvertnetly becomes the new Robin. When I finished, not only did I want to watch it again, but the never very next day it was necessary to get Part II, I couldn't wait at all.
A must for anyone who is remotely interested in Batman, and problaby worth it even if you think you don't.
