Review of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 (2012) by Simon G — 08 Oct 2012
Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns is set 10 years after Batman has hung up his cape resulting in a gang known as the Mutants slowly taking more and more control over Gotham forcing an aging Bruce Wayne to return to don the cape and cowl once more to stop them.
This also coincides with the return of Two Face. The Dark Knight Returns is another welcome edition to the DC animated universe delving into the psychology of the Bat as well as the affect on the public at large - brilliantly debated by a psychiatrist and Lana Lang on TV - that his return will have.
A nice set-up for the next villain with the ending as well for Part 2.
